Hi Tanya! Thanks for asking! Honestly I haven’t gone much because I am having a really hard time finding the time and also I’m dealing with a lot of hard stuff in my life and I find it is hard to get the motivation to go. I had fun when I went and I know I need to go again. That is great about you helping your friend….. I have a friend like that who helps me so much! She is my work out partner so I love working out because I feel like it is my time to vent and have fun
.Thanks again!
How did your mom’s group go, Katie? Make any new friends? It really is nice to have some other moms to share with, I have a friend who is calling me frequently right now for stress relief, and I’m glad I can be here for her to vent. I can laugh at things for her (having “been there” myself) and help her to see the humor and the light at the end of the tunnel. Hope you’ve got a few “mommy leads” now at least
I loved you story Tanya!!!!!
It was inspiring! Thanks for sharing!!!
I absolutely love that you mention kids being loud in the background!!
I sometimes have to go outside or lock myself in a room, etc, just to be able to talk on the phone and actually hear something, and honestly even that doesn’t always work!
I’ve never been to a “mommy group”, but my BMFF (Best Mommy Friend Forever) had her two at the same time I was pregnant with my two oldest. She was dating (now divorced) a guy I went to school with (who I always thought was a jerk) but she looked so…cool!…like someone I would like to know. She was fat (er…pregnant), I was fat…It was my first pregnancy, and I needed a friend to talk to about that so I braved up and said hello. We exchanged phone numbers. It took us about 3 weeks to get up the courage to call each other but now I don’t know what I would do without her. She’s since moved fairly far away so I only see her a few times a year, and we talk only sporadically since we’re both pretty busy, but I know and love that I can call her any time and tell her the good, the bad and the ugly and she is always understanding and supportive. Even though we have different numbers of children (I have 6 and she has 2) and both of her children as it turns out have special needs, we really been blessed with the ability to totally understand where the other one is coming from.
…I don’t have much time to hang out with other mommies, but I’m finding that with the kids or without them, it’s just nicer to hang out with people who understand.
Thank you so much for this episode!!!!! This was exactly for me!
I am trying to hard to find moms in my area and I’m going to a moms group on Tuesday so I can’t wait!!!!!!
Thanks you guys!!!
Katie
