Jon and Kate Plus 8 – What do you think?
I can’t even imagine how 8 children would affect a marriage? I can barely manage two kids and keep my relationship intact. Do they ever have a moment together…alone? Is there ever a moment of actual quiet in their house? It’s easy for us to sit back and judge them, but regardless of your view of the fish bowl that they live in, one has to have some compassion for their circumstances. As far as whether they should continue the show, that’s a tricky one. On one hand, this is the way they are providing financially for a huge family… this show could give them the comfort of financial security. On the other hand, the exploitation of the family could have emotional and psychological consequences for the whole family.
I think Jon and Kate should go to marriage counseling and have that televised. I’m serious. I think that could help a lot of people, maybe even them…

I agree, I would like to see them reconcile. Too many couples take the easy way out. We live in a society that oozes instant happiness and that we shouldn’t have to work hard for anything. Couples tend to give up during the storm. But don’t realize there is a beautiful blue sky and a rainbow waiting if they push through the hard stuff. I know some people are going to read my comment and think I must be a relative of the Osmonds. But it is true…we need to work harder to make marriages work instead of giving up so easily.
I agree with you Jen. As one poster said on Barb’s page, it is so unfortunate how marraige, partially due to social influences, the media, etc. has been regarded as so disposable these days. There is never any examples of couple digging in their heels to make it work, and I’m talking under normal circumstances, barring any abuse, extreme acts of violents, etc. It has been sad watching this cute little family succumb to to the pressures and images of just about every public eye couple. I am hopeful that they couple will perhaps reconcile one day.
