My search for Zac Efron part deaux!
Brief recap: I am in Vancouver…I got a chance to bring my kids to the set of Zac Efron’s new movie with the promise of meeting him. Didn’t happen! Big disappointment, but going to go back today. Off we go, 45 minute drive. We are told we are going to get there before he starts shooting so we can meet him. The kids are ready to go! We get there…uh oh…they are already shooting. The kids are beside themselves. A little improvement today. We can actually see them filming. Still on a dirt road, still hot, but we can see him! Zac Efron in the flesh (he is mighty cute, I must say). We wait, wait some more. This isn’t happening. All the way here, again, and we are not going to meet him. It sinks in…we have to go. The kids are beyond upset. I try telling them that other kids would freak out just to see Zac. This is the problem with expectations. They thought they were going to meet him, not see him. I want to run on the set, scream to Zac that my kids have been sitting outside for two days to meet him, but I don’t. I don’t want to get carted off by the Canadian police in front of my kids. We leave. The mood is even darker than yesterday. The kids are inconsolable. I need a drink. Well, Zac, we will meet one day. Yes, we will!
