My search for Zac Efron.
I am in Vancouver, BC with my family. I was out seeing beautiful Grouse Mountain with my friend Alison and her kids. Allison gets a call…We can go meet Zac Efron! My kids are elated. Her husband is a producer and his assistant is friends with Zac’s assistant. This is like someone telling me when I was a kid that I could meet Scott Baio (yes, I’m that old). We immediately take off for our journey, drive another 45 minutes and go to the set of the movie he is shooting. Lilah is picking flowers for him. Cooper is going to try to get Ashley Tisdale’s number from him. They are on a high! We get there…they are shooting…we need to sit, be very quiet and wait. Did I mention we are sitting on a side of a dirt road, it is very hot, we can’t see anything and we need to keep 5 kids (all under 10) completely quiet. It is a nightmare. The flowers are wilting. Cooper is anxious. My kids are fidgeting and not at all quiet. An hour goes by…another half hour…I’ve had it. What am I doing? I’m a Zac Efron groupie. Allison and I give each other the sign; this is not happening today. We need to get our kids and go. Try telling this to a 7 year old boy who has a Troy Bolton costume! Crying, screaming, pure disappointment (and you should have seen the kids!). We are told we can come back tomorrow…..We are just crazy enough to try….I’ll let you know what happens tomorrow!
