The Life of the Average Mom
Guest Blogger: Kailani of An Island Life
Cooking, cleaning, carpools, homework . . . these are just some of the things that I do on a daily basis as a Mom of three young girls. My role keeps me very busy and sometimes insanely crazy but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. However, if a nanny came knocking on my door tomorrow, I wouldn’t turn her away.
Sometimes when I’m watching those television shows like Entertainment Tonight or reading People Magazine I wonder what it would be like to be a celebrity mom. How nice it must be to have a personal driver take you wherever you needed to go. Or to have your favorite dinner waiting on the table when you get home from work. And if I didn’t have to clean another toilet for the rest of my life that would be just fine with me.
Yes, some celebrity moms have it made when it comes to daily chores but what about the rest of it that comes with fame? Can you imagine your every move broadcasted for the world to scrutinize? I don’t know about you but there are a few moments when I’ve been less than the perfect mom and would prefer that no one knew. Like the time when I was too tired to cook dinner and fed the kids cereal and milk instead. And what about the kind of life your child will have with the paparazzi following them around? Having a normal childhood would be almost impossible.
Despite these differences, I feel that deep down inside celebrity moms are just like other moms. They go through pregnancy and all the hormonal changes just like the rest of us. They deliver their babies just like the rest of us. They worry about their children, they want what’s best for them, and they love them with all their heart . . . just like the rest of us.
